No Bored Kids this Summer!!

While it may seem far away, summer will be here before you know it! If you are looking for an awesome summer camp or fun class for your child or teen, Macaroni Kid Fayetteville should be your first stop! 

Arts Live Theater- June, July & August-  Most camps listed here are limited to a mini of 5 campers & max of 10, so reserve your spot quickly before they are full.  Info on pricing & dates for each camp & registration forms can be found HERE. 

Musical Theatre Camps- Campers will learn musical theatre skills with a public performance at the end of camp week.

Ages 5-7:

Create-A-Play Camps- Create your own play in these camps filled with fun and imagination!  Campers will create their own stories and perform them learning theatre skills along the way.  A public performance will be held the final day of camp. 

Age 8-11:  

Get Up and Dance Camp! Dance your heart out in this camp designed to introduce young actors to the fun of theatre dance.

Reader’s Theatre Camp!- A form of theatre in which actors do not memorize their lines, but rather read them with script in hand.  Campers will perform a Reader’s Theatre script learning acting & presentation along the way

Minecraft Stage Combat Camp! Learn stage combat techniques used by the professionals! Throw a punch!  This camp will focus on a different aspect of Stage Combat.

Create-A-Play Camp- Create your own play in these camps filled with fun and imagination!  Campers will create their own stories and perform them learning theatre skills along the way.  A public performance will be held the final day of camp. 

Comedy Improv Camp- Make em’ laugh with comedy improv!  Students will learn a series of short-form improv games, (think “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”), thinking fast on their feet!

 Ages 12-18:

 Summer Theatre Conservatory- It’s fast-as-lightning theatre with a play being rehearsed, produced and performed in a few short weeks!  Actors will be cast in a script which will be given a full production with public performances.

Monologue Workshop-  “Who are you?” "Connecting Character with Self" is an important part of performing monologues successfully. Each actor will be matched with a monologue from a published play based on their traits and experience, but they will also create their own special monologue based on those same traits and experience.

 John Brown University- Summer Academy. In these camps, high school students will stay on campus in campus housing & meals are included.  Cost $500. Spots are very limited, register early! More info HERE

Great Ideas Academy- July 19-25- In this week-long academy, high school students will investigate the ideas that matter, such as justice, truth, and beauty, by participating in seminar discussions, reading great texts, and touring the renowned Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The two daily class sessions will be led by faculty from JBU’s Honors Scholars Program, and in the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to interact with current Honors students at meals, study sessions, and evening activities. This year’s theme addresses the question: “Is America a Christian Nation?” Students will receive a one-hour credit for an Honors Colloquium after completing the readings, academic sessions, and fulfilling the requested assignments.

Community Creative Center- Time for Art is an exciting tour of art history that begins with the ancient Mayas of South America and ends right here in Northwest Arkansas.  Campers use clay, paints, pastels and a whole lot of fun to discover how art illuminates history, science, and the natural world around us. Fayetteville: Morning and afternoon camps run June 8th through August 3rd.   Rogers: Morning camps run June 15th through July 13th. Ages 6 and up.  Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks- This summer BGO will offer 4 Saturday morning Classes for children ages 7 to 11.  Classes will run from 10:00 to 12:00-- Cost is $10 per child for members and $15 per child for nonmembers. Register HERE

 Camp Invention-  Locations in Fayetteville, Springdale & Rogers-  Camp Invention is where BIG ideas become the next BIG thing! Local educators lead a week of hands-on activities created especially for children entering grades 1-6. Camp Invention gives boys and girls the opportunity to investigate circuits, disassemble household appliances and much more! Colby Hale Soccer Camp @ U of A- Campers will be in a fun learning environment & taught the fundamentals of soccer. Led by head coach Colby Hale & the Razorback coaching staff. Register HERE
