Help With School Supplies

Need a little help with getting school supplies this year? There are several local community resources available that offer events to help out families of school-aged children who are in need of help with this. I've compiled a list of the ones I know of and if you know of others not yet listed, please email me at Karaa@macaronikid.com and I'll get them added. Click the title of each event below for more details.

In order of date-
Sat, July 23- School Supplies/ Backpack Giveaway in Elkins-  Round Mtn Community Church will be giving away over 600 backpacks filled with supplies for ages K-12th Grade at Elkins Community Center. Free haircuts, Hot dogs, games, inflatables, door prizes, and more. Register your students at www.rmccofnwa.com.  Message cassie.lothes@yahoo.com or text/call 479.616.4634 with any questions.**students must be present to receive supplies*

Thurs, July 28- School Supplies/ Backpack Bonanza in Farmington- 11th Annual Back to School Bonanza is a community outreach sponsored by the Farmington United Methodist Church. Free event giving away tennis shoes and socks, underwear, backpack,haircuts, some school supplies, vision screenings, dental screenings, and Kindergarten Health Physicals to start school. All are welcome- this community outreach program serves 600 children each year. Student must be present to receive services.

Sat July 30- School Supplies/ Backpack Giveaway in Springdale- Shiloh Square. Come celebrate Saturday July 30th for our backpack giveaway. We will be giving away 500 backpacks to the first 500 students. We will have school supplies, free food, door prizes, face painting, bouncy houses and much more. No registratration required.

Sat Aug 13- Parent UP- Backpack/ School Supplies Giveaway in Prairie Grove- Brought to you by Altrusa Int'l. Free school supplies for elementary & mid-level grades, free haircuts & lunch (hot dogs, chips & drinks), with fun special activities for kids & vendors for parents. Arkansas Dept of Human Services will be on site to assist w/ registration for DHS services.  Altrusa's main focus is literacy, so we will be giving away free books as well. Dollar General has donated clothing to give away for the event . Open to children all over Washington County.
