Macaroni Review: High-Protein Slammers Pouches

Sponsored Article Review

By Kara Ault, Macaroni Kid Fayetteville Publisher August 25, 2016
As part of our Macaroni Kid Back to School sponsored party recently, we were asked to review Slammers Snacks.  Brought to us by Go Gourmet, the leading company offering pouched snacks, Slammers Snacks were a welcome addition to our party.

Despite research showing that school-age kids are the most prolific snackers in today's market, most brands in the applesauce aisle offer snack pouches geared toward the toddler age group, with simple purees and often cartoon-ish characters on the packaging.  Go Gourmet wants to fill this gap by offering Slammers Snacks. Slammers are a healthy, very convenient option for active kids, and they will love the flavor options they can choose from.

Parents like Slammers because of the healthy ingredients which include superfoods, fruits + veggies and protein.

At our party, kids tried the Creamy Banana Chocolate Protein Slammer, their newest flavor, which contains seven grams of protein adding to the delicious blend of organic bananas, organic sweet potatoes, coconut cream and organic cocoa.

We tried the Slammers prior to the party and found that they taste best when cold, so I refrigerated them prior to the party. I think they'd be great for keeping cold in a lunchbox or having in the fridge for kids to grab as a snack after school. Most kids liked the flavor & didn't realize they were eating something so healthy. The moms liked finding out about the healthy ingredients included.

Other flavors available for purchase are watermelon kiwi burst, Awesome, Chill'n, Epic and Pomegranate Grape Crush. Each contains real veggies and fruits.

Slammers Snacks can be purchased retailers nationwide including Target, Safeway, Krogers, Walmart and more and you can find more information on them here.
