Earth Day Carol: An Earth Day Adventure

Download This FREE App for a Kid-Friendly Environmental Message

By Susie Blevins April 17, 2014
As we approach Earth Day on April 22, 2013, there will be a multitude of messages  on why we should be concerned about the environment, and what can be done to help protect it. As a developer of environmental education programs, Tucsonan Torran Anderson recognized that the best way for children to understand such messages is to present it in a fun way. Torran, with the help of other Arizonans, volunteered their time to develop Earth Day Carol, a retelling of the Charles Dickens’ classic,  A Christmas Carol.

In Earth Day Carol, Plastic Bottle Scrooge is visited by the ghosts Plastic Past, Plastic Present, and Plastic Future who send the message of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, as a FREE app. This environmental tale is available for Apple devices, AndroidKindle Fire, and Nook.

You can also view a slightly older verson on YouTube, although the app is a little more fun with creative narration by actress Janet Varney (voice of Korra on Nickelodeon's Legend of Korra.)
