Today some friends and I took a trip to the Janet Huckabee River Valley Nature Center. It is located in Fort Smith, about an hour south of Fayetteville, but it is worth the drive! Admission is FREE and the Center includes a 1,200 gallon aquarium with fish from the Arkansas River, a magnet "fishing" hole for the kids, a room full of hands-on, free-play type activities and more. While the rain kept us from it today, you can also fish on lake there and they loan out fishing poles & tackle boxes. If you are looking for a fun day trip, I highly recommend it.
