Kids love being creative, and Community Creative Center, located in Walton Arts Center's Nadine Baum Studio, has some wonderful new classes they are offering this fall. Since 2007, CCC has served the community offering high-quality clay and ceramics classes, as well as watercolor, mosaics, mixed media and other art classes for students of all ages and skill levels – from beginner to advanced. They have a variety of upcoming classes, from preschool to adult. Kreative Kids is an introductory class being offered on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 AM, from October 20th to November 10th. This class is for kids ages 3-5 and their parents/ caregivers. Kreative Kids has been designed & will be taught by Marie Vukin of Project Play Every Day. Marie has over 25 years of experience working with children and specializes in Play Therapy. She designs the children's activities for Preschool Playdates at Crystal Bridges and the activity stations at Firefly Fling. This Kreative Kids class will bring together play & the arts. Families will enjoy hands-on activities designed to inspire creativity, exploration, discovery & fun. The focus is discovery & self-expression rather than the finished product. Parents will leave this class with new ideas & energy to engage their children in play. Cost is $60 and you may register for the class HERE.
CCC also will be offering Super Saturdays! classes from October 4th til December 13th, for ages 6 & up. For only $25, CCC’s Super Saturdays! workshops let kids make Monster Mash Masks, Terrific Turkey Toppers and other fun art projects. These classes fill quickly, so early registration is recommended. Children work closely with the instructor to learn the potter’s wheel. Classes are kept small to ensure individual instruction.
Teen Arts | Thursdays, Oct. 9 – Nov. 13 | 4:30 – 6:30 pm | Grades 7-12 | $120
Students will learn new material processes and techniques while exploring a variety of 2D and 3D projects, including mobile murals for public display.
