Family Art Night at Walton Arts Center
Thursday, March 28
Walton Arts Center is hosting a Family Art Night on Thursday, March 28 at 7 pm and you’re invited! Ten local community organizations will host arts & crafts, puzzles, games and fun learning activities for families in Walton Arts Center's Walker Atrium starting at 6 pm. These activities will give you the chance to talk with your children about sustainability, climate change and reducing impact through art. Preshow activities are FREE! Partner organizations include: Ozark Natural Science Center, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, Canopy NWA, NWA Land Trust, Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, Fayetteville & Washington County Recycling, Tri Cycle Farms, University of Arkansas Entomology and the Museum of Native American History.
At 7 pm, the fun moves into Baum Walker Hall, where kids & parents will watch Terrapin Puppet Theatre's "You and Me and the Space Between." When the island of Proud Circle springs a leak, its citizens must find a way to stop their home from disappearing! It takes the wondering mind of a child to save the island, its people and their ways.
From the mind of one of Australia’s most accomplished children’s playwrights comes a tale of imagination and invention. Storytelling, choreographed projections and live drawn animation explore the plight of refugees fleeing environmental change through the eyes of a child. Step inside a picture book with an artist and storyteller, amidst a paper set that’s cut, ripped, patched and manipulated live to create a world of play.
Tickets are just $9! Buy tickets for your whole family by clicking here.
