Emily Brown and the Thing

Friday, May 10 at 6:30pm at Walton Arts Center

Something monstrous is keeping Emily Brown awake...

One evening, Emily Brown and her old grey rabbit Stanley hear a Thing crying outside their window. He just can’t get to sleep! Emily Brown and her stuffed rabbit Stanley set off on an incredible adventure into the Dark and Scary Wood, the Whirling Wastes and beyond to find the Thing’s cuddly, his bedtime milk and his medicine… but nothing seems to help him settle. What’s really troubling the Thing – and will anyone ever get to sleep? Find out in this magical, musical show based on the much-loved book by Cressida Cowell (author of How to Train your Dragon) and illustrator Neal Layton about something that most kids can relate to – being afraid of the dark! Touching on themes of fear, bravery and adventure, this production has great songs, clever puppets and characters that audiences of all ages will adore. Grab your slippers and put on your favorite pajamas because Emily Brown, Stanley and the Thing are getting ready for bed and need your help!

Produced and performed by the same company that brought the hit productions The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child to Walton Arts Center, Tall Stories is a children’s theater company out of the U.K. known for their exciting blend of storytelling, original music and lots of laughs. Tickets to Emily Brown and the Thing are just $9 for children and $15 for adults at waltonartscenter.org. This performance is recommended for children ages 3+.
