Snails are usually not the best way to make someone smile, but snail mail? Awesome!! Have your kids make a Valentine to share with a local senior. Even young children who aren't able to read and write yet can color or draw a cute picture on a handmade or store-bought card. It only takes a few minutes to put a smile on someone’s face, providing an emotional boost for seniors in nursing homes.
Use your creativity to decorate and personalize a Valentine card, then drop it in the mail to one of the local senior centers that are accepting Valentines for their residents this year.
Here are a few local centers that would LOVE to receive Valentine cards for their residents. Feel free to reach out to others in our area. This is just a small list, as Northwest Arkansas has many nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Be sure to call before mailing or dropping off cards to make sure they can accept them and please mail them by Feb 8 to ensure they arrive by Feb 14.
