Description

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside of a computer when you're playing a video game?

In partnership with the University of Arkansas Department of Mathematical Sciences, students will explore the mathematical principles behind 3D graphics and video games. Topics discussed will include geometric primitives such as how lines and triangles are converted to pixels on a screen, how a graphics card manages to draw 3D geometry in perspective, and how to simulate the physics of a character jumping or a spaceship accelerating.

This semester course will utilize skills from geometry, linear algebra, and calculus, all while developing our programming muscles. Personal laptops are encouraged, or you can borrow one from the library.
