Macaroni Kid loves to get creative, and we work hard to stay with the times. When COVID hit we remained 100% active - even though we didn't have events to put on the calendar, we found ways to keep the community engaged. We think ahead and we work with our sponsors and advertisers to create the best fit. We love to put on our thinking caps and let our creativity run wild.

2020 Macaroni Kid Boo Baskets
When events were hard to come by due to a pandemic, we didn't let us stop engaging the community, and getting our local businesses seen in the community. We figured out to hold an event without really holding an event and worked on a project to distribute 150 filled "Boo Baskets" for Halloween 2020. With the help of local sponsors, we "hit" 150 families with doorstop drops of Boo Baskets. The campaign was run for 3 weeks in the website and social media. Our readers loved it, our sponsors loved it and we loved facilitating the fun. See more here.
Drive-Thru Donuts with Santa- For Christmas 2020, we switched our gears to once again host a social distancing style event, Drive-Thru Donuts with Santa. Thirty local families drove through a parking lot to safely see Santa from their vehicle and Santa handed each family a couple of craft kits and a box of donuts. Lewis Ford in Fayetteville let us use their parking lot for the venue and together, we raised money from this event to buy snacks for local healthcare workers via the NWA Covid Task Force.
Personalized Influencer Campaigns
We've built a rapport with our local community. Through our newsletter, website and social media, we hold an ongoing conversation about what's happening in our community. Our readers have learned to trust our reviews and trust our recommendations. We let our customers get an in-depth feel of what it is like to be a customer, encouraging them to want to be a customer too!
Here are some of our more recent influencer based campaigns:
Birthday Parties at the Jones Center in Springdale- in this campaign, we hosted a birthday party there to review and show other parents what options are available at the Jones Center. The Jones Center also offered a discount to families who mentioned Macaroni Kid when they booked a party.
Walmart Grocery Pickup with Ice Cream- This was part of a Macaroni Kid national campaign we were chosen to participate in, with the goal of showing parents how simple Walmart Grocery Pickup is and that it can even be used to get ice cream in summer. We led our readers through the whole Walmart pickup ordering and pickup experience and invited friends over for the ice cream.
